Regent Products offers a variety of homeowner friendly sealers and cleaners for natural stone. It is important to know which product to use for each particular type of stone, and this article will explain the various products we offer. 

When it comes to daily cleaning of your natural stone it is best to use a product made with stone in mind. Although some household cleaners which contain ammonia or are acidic will not affect granite they can damage a marble or a limestone, so therefore it is recommended that you use a PH neutral cleaner on all of your natural stones. Regent Aerosol Stone Soap is a deep cleaning product that will remove all superficial dirt without damaging the stone, and it buffs out very easily.  Stone Soap is also available in a liquid form for use on floors and walls. Regent Stone Polish, Superior Stone Polish, Akemi Triple Effect, and Bellinzoni Stone Polish are examples of cleaner/polish type products that are great for cleaning and adding additional luster to your stone in one application. 

Sealing of natural stone for stain protection is a step that we strongly recommend, since once a stain occurs it can be very difficult to remove. We recommend Regent Zeta Seal or Miracle Sealants Porous Plus for sealing marble and limestone, as these products provide an extra degree of protection against acid staining on calcium based stones ( they DO NOT prevent etching! ). For sealing granite we suggest Regent Silicone Impregnator, Miracle Sealants 511, or Akemi Nano Effect. These are all penetrating sealers that leave no residue on the surface while providing excellent stain repellency. It is very important that you wipe up any stain immediately, as all of these products provide a window of opportunity to wipe up a stain before it has a chance to set in.

*Before sealing any stone it is best to clean and thoroughly dry the surface - if the stone is wet it can cause the surface to appear cloudy due to moisture being trapped beneath the sealer. A good rule of thumb for when it is time to seal a stone is that if water no longer beads up on the surface it is time to apply a sealer*
